Springs

  1. I love this area...its where i get to ask more dumb ass questions than ever!

So, as above....im talking RSV4 now (ohlins on the front). Anyway...as im a 15 stone lardy and im pretty sure this was designed with a bantam moth weight rider how do i find out what springs are right and, whats in there already....the reason ask is that if they need to be changed, changing springs is a pretty easy thing to do and, springs are also pretty cheap (ie cheaper than a set of forks - just to put it into context)

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

  2. Cheers Bradders

Assuming theyre ohlins im about right then...hmm sure i read somewhere bikes (race) were usually geared around a 12 stone rider - and i was under the impression test riders werent fat fuckers like me! ::

  3. Depends, you may find ohlins have different rates, but more likely the type of spring (linear vs progressive) may be different. You could try a search on a 1098 s, pretty much same forks afaik

  4. Im guessing the .3 doesnt really matter that much - or does it??

  5. Go closest too, so if it’s 10 or 10.5 I’d go 10.5

Note if you put track riding in there you’ll see you get often 2 weights higher

  6. Nah...just road...but spirited road!

  7. Sideline question bradders...if you change a shock ( rear) like I have....does the sag ( for the bike ) change?

  8. Depends on the spring really. As long as the shock is the same length lol.

  9. That I can't answer as it's on the bike now... Ttx2...

  10. Sag is sag matey. So unless something so;I’d stops the suspension compressing, it’s all the same.
