  1. 15/38 or 15/36 (OE setting, that is a little bit long)

  2. I did not mean to post that. I started typing a post and it brought up a previous post... opps

My bike is 14t 38t... I was thinking that's a small front but I will leave it for now.
Was hoping it was stock and I could get more bottom end but it seems not :(
Not putting it back to 15/36. One less job to do... although I may go 15/41 at a later date to be kind to the chain.

  3. Can't help you there...

I needed / wanted a new chain last year when I bought mine. Went 15/38 with a longer chain and happy enough with it.

  4. 14-38 and you want lower gearing :Wideyed: is it for stunt riding :Woot:, I ran 14-38 for ages which was fine but at the limit with a 94 link chain and modern tyre profiles scrub the front of the swingarm, changed to a longer 520 chain & 15-41 :upyeah:

  5. Well I've had a couple stunt bikes so maybe.. my R6 is 1 down front 2 up back for track use.

I'm going 1 tooth down on my 170hp fireblade and fitting a quick action throttle.. maybe I'm just not turning the throttle far enough. Most my bikes have been set up this way (in the past). I'm not a good rider, I guess it's just what I've been use to.

I don't think car racing (down force) and carrying crazy speed has altered my senses, I thought the Ducati would be an animal but it's much more likely I am a just being sheepish and not using all the throttle or worse the bike is not making proper power but no symptoms to suggest this... I need a forum member to ride it and see what they think.

  6. Give it a dyno run, should be easy and quick to see what it is putting onto the road bhp wise, a short run won't costs a lot unless you discover it needs remapping (like they all do)

  7. I probably will do once its all built up. I have a good dyno for a quick power run not far from me and I've used them before.

I need to get it all sorted and take it for a good ride in the dry. It's been wet and the handling was so poor, I dare not open it up properly.

I was checking the sprockets as a part of getting to know the bike (going round it). I was hoping it was stock i.e.
I could go down a tooth just to give it a bit more punch bit it saves me a few quid and time now.

This post was an error anyway.. I answered my own questions when I typed it I found other post on here about this subject. Still getting to grips with this forum.

It will be sorted soon. more bits on the way...
