  1. i have a 2002 Ducati 750ss that I want to put an alarm on for extra security for when I start my apprenticeship in September-my bike will be out in the open .
what are your honest opinion I am currently winning a auction for one at £20

    many thanks
    Zak

  2. IMO all alarm systems should be crushed in a big fuck off hydraulic press. I hate the bastard things. If leaving in the open I would maybe cover it and and chain it to an imovable object with the thickest chain I could afford.
I know chains have drawbacks (bulk, weight) but alarm systems won't put off a 'pro theiving twat' one bit.

  3. I won't buy a bike with an alarm, fecking things are more trouble than their worth.

I'd rather pay the extra insurance premium, and have all the grief thereafter should the worse happen.

  4. Buy a tracker. Alarms are a waste of time. IMHO

  5. If you are worried about leaving it at work in the same place each day then a good chain is your better bet as you can leave it there chained to your favoured spot .

  6. When i first got my 748sps many years ago I had to have an alarm fitted to get insured and fitted a data tool alarm. That is now in the bin.
I made an addition to the family and that had a datatool on it it and it caused nothing but trouble and that went in the bin
But another bike I have has a spyball on it and in ten years it hasn't played up at all They are only any good if someone hears it and does something. If you really want something on it a tracker would be better

  7. Don't buy a cheap older alarm. Major hassle especially if the motherboard goes and you cant get any spares. If you want to get an alarm, get a decent one and get it fitted by somebody qualified. What you want is massive f-off chain and a lamppost
Just out of interest, why are you having to leave it outside?

  8. DO NOT buy a spyball. They're sh1t and will cause you nothing but misery.

    Buy something decent.

Im telling you, i aint kidding,

  9. @mattmccabebrown have to leave it outside as there is no where else to park it at work.
are spyball alarms that bad @749sDub ?

  10. 151300123032 this is an ebay listing number of what i have just brought for £20

  11. Fair enough - great big lock and chain when parked near work would be my suggestion

  12. I just know from ppl how had them and a dealer here who refused to stock them after so many issues. But a decent META alarm, much better piece of kit. But they are pricey.
