Hi all is it possible to open up the Speedo and reset the mileage ? I want to swop a km Speedo for mph and thought I'd try to get them to read the same, I did think of winding it on with a drill but it'll take 16 days at 120 and will probably melt. This is not for other nefarious reasons.! Cheers.
If you can get the bezel off without damaging it (almost impossible) and keep the glass in one piece as well........then you could remove the guts and change the discs around but it is very fiddly to do and you could bugger it up..........and besides, you will probably bugger it up by trying to wind it back (the gearing in some speedos does't allow for backwards movement) plus the needle will be driven hard against the stop by the rotating magnet, so you could bugger up the actual speed reading capability as well..... Besides, it's illegal if you don't declare what you have done, because........... 1) Clocking a vehicle mileage is illegal and 2) It is illegal to show an incorrect mileage

I don't really want to sell it as you know d*mn well what will happen if I do..........Have you already got an MPH one?
