ST2 fork change

  1. Will 916/996 forks fit on a ST2 ???

  2. Don't think so, as ST2 ones fit a monster but 916 ones don't. Dont know if its just a yoke change tho or there is some other reason

  3. Thanks for the reply Bradders.....has anyone else got a insight into this mod and is it possible ?

  4. 996 forks are larger diameter where they go through the top yoke, I think the fork leg on the 996 is also a little shorter. Aren't your forks already fully adjustable? Oh and I do remember seeing you on the A6 heading out of Preston. Hope the above info helps and if you do decide to go down the 996 fork route, I may be able to get my hands on a set for you to try before you buy!

  5. I think its a yoke change and sure others have done it...google may be your friend

  6. If ST2 are the same fitment as Monster then not a straight swap.

I have 916 forks on a Monster - 916 forks are 53 mm top and bottom whereas Monster are 50mm top and 54mm bottom.

I bored top yoke and shimmed the bottom to make them fit, they work well but needed lighter springs for the lighter bike.

  7. I fitted ST2 adj ones to my M620 and straight in, although from memory they were a little shorter.
