Hiya I just bought an ST4 to go touring round Norway, I got it home after buying it and lifted the seat up and noticed the ECU is red hot to the touch, Is this heat from the engine or do I have a breakdown just waiting to happen? If its a faulty ECU I have a pre red key bike so can I just swap it for a good second hand unit without much bother? or could it be something else causing the heat? I'm hoping everyone is going to say theirs get hot as well but guessing this is not good for electronic equipment. Thanx Simon
How hot exactly, could you get a thermometer on it. One mans red hot is another mans, "oh thats all right" Have to say it doesn't sound great though
I have a laser temperature reader at work, will try and run the bike and measure. I would have expected the ECU to be cold? Luke warm with the weather maybe. Could this be anything to do with the regulator rectifier? Too much current?
