848 Stand Options Please

  1. Only had the 848 for a few days and it is my first ever bike without a centre stand. I would not expect to find one on such a lightweight bike anyway. I have ordered a paddock stand that has a pin to go into the left side of the rear wheel through the sprocket, but on inspection it looks like there might also be an option of something that fits where the swinging arm bearing is. The holes seem to have "tongues" at the top and there is a smaller hole about 6 inches deep in the left side and 2 inches deep on the right side.
Is there some sort of stand that fits this area?

  2. An ABBA stand.

  3. Thanks Steve.

  4. The 2 other alternatives are as already mentioned the ABBA and the other is the Bursig.

Just Google up Bursig stand, however I wouldn't pay Bursig prices, there are now quite a few knock offs of the same style which are considerably cheaper. More Googling required.

The Abba with the fitment to raise the front wheel seems a good option, you can do the front end and if you also get the footrest mount pins you can remove the swingarm with it too. Pretty versatile stand, but a bit more hassle than the standard pin thru rear axle type.

I usually use the pin thru axle type in the summer and put the bike onto the Bursig come the winter, when its stored (I got my Bursig a lot cheaper than the RRP)

  5. I'm very limited for space ATM , has anyone got or used one of the 1jac bike lifts, what are the limitations , I like that it can be moved around when I remove the bikes wheels ... £326 is a big investment ...

  6. Looks very similar to the Bursig that I have.

Once setup they are great, although I wouldn't sit on the thing like you see in some vids and it takes me more than finger tip movement to wheel it around. Once its up you can pretty much put the bike where you want providing the surface is reasonably smooth and flat.

  7. Looked and price of Bursig compared to the 1jac, there's a big difference in price and they look the same tbh ...also looking at Abba ....
