I know there are a few gamers on here, is anyone else playing this? I picked it up yesterday and i have to say its a real breath of fresh air when compared to the old guard of multiplayer first person shooters. First off the lack of a single player campaign is a little irritating, instead of this you get a series of multiplayer matches with a bit of a voiceover to try and tie them together, tbh i didn't pay any attention to the story as the gameplay is so frantic and fun you kind of forget about it. It really rewards movement, if you stay still you are dead so not many players try to 'camp' to pick people off. This makes it a lot more fun than COD or BF in my opinion. Your Titan (a huge stomping mech) can be called down from an orbiting ship when its ready, the timer for this can be shortened by killing other players or the AI controlled grunts and spectres. The Titans are brilliant fun to play but they are by no means invincible, in fact the best bit about the game is that it is so balanced. When on foot you are quite fragile, a few shots and you've had it BUT you are massively maneauverable which can make it hard for people to land shots on you. The Titans can soak up much more punishment and can deal very heavy damage but are slower however you still have to keep moving or you will be taken apart before you know it. Every player on foot is equiped with anti infantry and anti titan weapons and you can quite easily take an unaware Titan down especially if you work as a team. Even at level 1 you are not outgunned by higher level players but higher levels do unlock new and more fun guns. The levels are really well designed too, with loads of hidey holes for players on foot and huge open spaces for Titans to stomp around. I absolutely love it! Have to say I'm not exactly bowled over by it. Yeah its looks pretty bloody good, but its just not my kinda game. I'm not into multi player online shooters. I personally just like playing my xbox or playstation by myself against the computer. Used to love Street Fighter for example, but didn't bother venturing online just to get destroyed by some 6yr old in Japan with the worlds strongest thumbs who hasn't seen the sun in years. I am however, looking forward to the new Batman game
I normally prefer single player or co-op games myself but for some reason I have really gelled with Titanfall. I do wish it had a decent single player campaign though...
I mostly play single player campaigns but that is not due to fact I cannot win with a spotty 6y old Matt I always found multiplayer games booring quite quickly. For me it feels like watching a movie over and over and over and over and over and so on again. Same maps full of basically same people playing same characters doing same thing and on top of all that you are bound to play the game when others do. If you want to popo or wee wee you just have to loose. While single player campaign can be repetitive the scenery changes, story progresses, dificulty level goes up and you can stop to have a pint. P.S. Has anyone played Carmageddon when drunk?
Online stuff is great in principle, but just look what happened with GTA5. Its like an insane asylum in there
Btw I also loose to 6y old's. Just do not have time to practice and cunning plus life experience means shit, especially in FPS and GTA.
Cant get on with it, its just COD with robots and visually disappointing.......not next gen and hardly groundbreaking just overhyped..... I too dislike the lack of campaign. Im waiting for Watchdogs. Daz.
Meh, Ive also got to the point whereby MP games leave me cold. I like SP games. I loved Deus Ex HR. Ive been playing BF4 for a while but got bored pretty soon. So now I have a watercooled PC but no games to play as Ive got bored with gaming. I want an expansive SP like Far Cry 3. Loved that game.
Deus Ex and Far Cry 3 are some of my favourite games. I'm really looking forward to the Witcher 3 as well, even though its been put back to 2015 now.
