Starting Problem

  1. Hi, 1992 750ss. Press switch, nothing no click, no dining of lights, new battery. Crossed terminal s on the relay motor turns but relay doesn't click doing this? Should it or is it more likely the switch or wiring? Thanks in advance.

  2. Use a pair of jump leads directly from the battery to the starter motor to see if the starter spins over.........black lead to the engine somewhere first, then touch the red lead to the starter terminal..........

If it spins, which your post suggests it will, then it is most likely the starter relay or the connections.........make sure the little wiring plug in the relay is well in and makes good contact.

  3. Up grade you starter wiring to 10mm, it makes the world of difference, while your at it!!:upyeah:

  4. Hi, turned out to be a connection in the little plug on the relay! Working now but will look at up grading the main wiring to 10mm, thanks :)

  5. Smear a bit of silicon sealant on it and then refit it, it'll keep the moisture out and stop it vibrating out. I've had the same problem

  6. Around it is better..........otherwise it could insulate the connector pins.

  7. Or use a tie wrap round the solenoid to hold the plug in. At least it's easier to disassemble to change the solenoid when it goes

  8. Just squeeze the female pins to make a tighter fit. Then tie wrap for extra security.
