V4 Static Sag

  1. Anyone know the static sag on the rear for a 2018 pan V4?

    thanks

  2. When I had mine (2018) it had zero (nil, nothing, 0) static. That was on the factory setting. I had to wind the preload off almost fully to get any sag. From memory it ended up at about 8mm. They are mega hard on the rear as stock.

  3. Ok great. Just setting up a Maxton unit. At the moment I’ve got about 12mm of static. So just want to get a base setting sorted first of all

  4. It’s good you have some static sag. Rider sag is probably more important depending on your weight and where/how you ride. Was the shock sprung to your weight and intended use? If so it should have the correct base settings when you got it.
Assume it’s the base model bike if you have upgraded suspension? Mine was the S with electric Ohlins.

  5. I bought it 2nd hand so it’s previous been setup for someone else. I may cha get the spring rate when I go in for a proper setup.

    yes it’s a base model

  6. Static sag would normally be set to a %age of full travel, not just an absolute number. Sorry - can't remember generally recommended %age of full travel off the top of my head.
