stickey stuff

  1. You know that clear plastic stuff you put over panels to protect them. Well what is it called and anyone recommend a supplier for my 1098. I had it on the bike when I got it and have just pulled off the rear bits to fit a transfer. It looked crap so took it off but now have no protection on rear panels.

  2. Sellotape and w h smiths do a good line......

a foogle disclosed venture shield as probably the name your looking for-I recall it's been well discussed in the past ( without suggessting grannies/eggs/sucking) perhaps a search on venture shield on here will reap dividends.

failing that, Sellotape, works for me

    :upyeah:

  3. Do you mean Ventureshield?

  4. That would seem to be the only product that would fit the bill

  5. And sellotape :upyeah:

  6.

  7. The mention of sellotape may be tongue in cheek but I have a roll of clear vinyl tape used for repairing poly tunnels. I have put that on the upper part of my stanchions to stop the stone chipping. It is invisible when applied

  8. I got some cheap sheets on ebay and just cut them to size

  9. Probably not to everybodys taste, but I did this recently with 3D carbon effect vinyl as my oversuit seam was ruining the paintwork.

  10. I use vinyl for covering schoolbooks etc. on the V piece on my 748\9** bikes and that works pretty well.

  11. It certainly is eagle eyes

  12. Very nice mate!

Might have to see if there is anyone down in sunny Hampshire that can do this stuff (i'll only cock it up) on my 1098R.

  13. Local installer just quoted me £185 to supply and fit the full kit to my 1098R.......tempted.

  14. Only downside i can see to this is the sheet size of 200x300mm isn't that big - So on a larger panel you'd have a join which may be visible?

The local fitter said the full kit for the bike was £120 and fitting it was £65

I'm considering it, but have to wait until my new fuel tank arrives so i can get that done at the same time.

  15. I just hate paying for something I can do myself!
