Woke up this morning to find that some scum of the earth has had it away with my pride and joy! :Rage: Parked it on the road last night at the front of the house, as I had been out on it and was not able to put it in the garage. It is a red carby 900ss, registration number P619VGN. Just reported it to the police, but doubt I will hear anything further from them. So looks like the rest of the summer is going to be without two wheels.
was the steering lock on or was it padlocked to something? i wouldn't believe this was a great masterminded crime, have a walk around the area perhaps generally towards the nearest "estate" and ask..... I've even heard of people offering up £50 for the safe return........
Bugger.... Its painful. I had a 999S nicked from my garage a few years back. They broke into my garage and ripped out the ground anchors. Definitely pro's as opposed to chavvy scrotes. My home security is somewhat beefed up now. Concealment is the first onion layer of security.
It had the steering lock on and a disc lock on it. I am in Coventry, the area we live in is generally fairly quiet, so I suppose I took it for granted it would be reasonably safe. Don't normally leave the bike out very often, just if I get back a bit late, as I can't take it round the back to the garage in the dark.
id go with the plan I've heard, find a chavy scrote and get him to put the word out.....offer up a few quid...
Gutted for you. It's so easy to get complacent. I once left the garage door up on my integral garage because it was a hot day and I'd been out for drive, so thought I'd let some heat out. I was sitting in the lounge reading with the windows open and heard a noise outside, went to the window and the scrote ran off to his mate waiting in the car and they screeched off. I went outside and he had been through the garage and lined up various tool boxes and other items he fancied on the drive. Nothing was taken but 10 minutes later and I would have gone to bed forgetting I'd left the door open. That was in a sleepy village too! Hope you get it back.
I'm sorry, just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, "...stolen from within half a mile of your house between the hours of 11pm and 7am without it being in the agreed place of ... " Forgive me.
Gutted for you, always hate seeing these threads pop up. Been a victim too with a rather expensive mtb. Hope it comes back to you with minimal damage. That seems to depend in the company I think. Looked around as my insurance was up a couple of weeks ago and I'm sure one of them had no stipulation of any kind for that. Some were between certain hours but most now seem to be at any time.
Good look around the neighbourhood, alleys, garage blocks, often as said above they are pushed away. Although if it had disc lock maybe more likely it was lifted in a van
