Stone chip repair

  1. Hi all,

Whilst cleaning my bike after a glorious 6 day tour of France, Belgium and Germany, I've noticed that during our trip I've manage to acquire a small, but really annoying stone chip on the plastic tank panel of my 696. It's the sort that your eye goes straight to whenever you're within 100 metres of your bike [IMG]

So, do you know if Ducati sell a stone chip repair pen / crayon in Ducati red?

  2. Yeah there's a couple of good kits on ebay, or search for RS paints (expensive but good) also moto rapido sell touch up pens!

  3. I used a finetip artists brush to fill in layer by layer my chips using a two-part touchup paint, then feathered in a top-coat of laquer? Hardly see them now! :)

  4. I use humbrol enamel model paint, the sort the kids use for their airfix kits. Rosso red is a perfect match for my red duke.

  5. It's a battlewound, or 'character'!

  6. Thanks for all the tips.

In the end I went for Revell model paint No 34 using a very very fine artists brush - absolutely perfect match for a 2009 M696.

    Thanks all.
