The fact that these parts are rare, they both come up within a day of each other on UK Ebay. The first tatty one from an Italian seller is bid up to £356, the second new one from the UK is only bid up to £56. Is the first one false to bump the price of the second new set? Ducatigate Conspiracy?
Magnesium Engine covers for the 998 / 999 Engine The crappy pair have just sold (evidently) at £352 The new set are now at £155 and climbing as they must be worth more than the crappy set at £352, if there is enough interest of course...
New set sold for £310 crappy knackered set for £352 - just thought it's worth knowing of all type of fraud on Ebay - no matter how boring it might be
It's worth noting, definitely, and that was a decent way of showing it. But it's not really fraud of any sort, just users being on the ball. If you're not on the ball, go get yourself a coffee and log out for a bit, then log in again...There are charlatans on ebay, but then there are charlatans everywhere. Caveat emptor...
Shill bidding is not uncommon on eBay although what you have illustrated is not quite it. Shill bidding is where you own both accounts or more and use one\the account\s to bid on the item listed by your other account to boost the price and show perceived interest in an item. This just looks like a coincidence to me and not atypical of eBay. I've had some real bargains that have been missed by all and sundry on, it happens.
Maybe, but some coincidence - first of these I've seen on here in more than 2 years, and the Wickes rule on the Italian one? Is the perpetrator lurking...
The lister may have two accounts, I have two accounts as well, one is my business account and the other personal. I agree the ruler is odd, other than that and the rarity of the item is there anything else to suggest any thing that is suspicious?
Nah, some people buy tat and some people buy bargains. I have load of stuff to shift still but no testaretta parts.
