Stripped And Cleaned The 899

  1. Spent two days cleaning the Panigale.

So yesterday I started by stripping all of the body work/trims and mud guards down etc. Individually degreased & cleaned each part as well as all the places you can't see including the radiator/guard and fan housing.

Polished the pipes up with a fantastic metal polish, cleaned and decontaminated the bodywork & took it inside. I sat in my study polishing (autoglym super resin) and hard waxing all of the bodywork for a few hours last night and have managed to get it pretty much flawless and followed up with auto finesse carnauba wax layered on after curing. The shine is awesome and has really brought out the depth of the red.

Today I put the bike back together, greased all of the nuts and bolts and sprayed up with ACF50. Got the bike back together, aligned all of the panels and tightened the bolts up. Followed this up by another wash to remove hand and finger prints, followed by yet another layer of wax and treating all plastics with slip. Wheels where decontaminated with iron out, followed by a polish and hard wheel wax (mint rims).

Couple of images, two from when I started stripping the bike down, and one final shot of her finished.
