Stroking A 749

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by CrossbreedCycles, Jun 5, 2016.

  1. I'd like to build a stroked 749 engine. I have an assortment of cranks and rods in my stash, is there a convenient combination to provide more stroke?

It would be nice to use a 68mm 900 crank but I'm guessing the barrels will not allow for that much extra stroke.

  2. I have no idea but this kind of thing is damned interesting.

  3. There's only 58mm of cylinder remaining from piston skirt at TDC....I need to put on my thinking cap.

  4. I presume this would involve fat base gaskets or something, then what happens with valve timing? If you find something to play with,I hope we get a full story and pics.:upyeah:

  5. All this talking of stroking and skirts has left me quite flustered.
    I am leaving now.

  6. Very interested to see what you come up with and results that come from it.
As said above though I bet there will be open cans and worms everywhere!

  7. We haven't even started to talk about Bottom Dead Centre yet.
