Not sure if this has been covered, but do not order anything directly or through ebay that is coming from China. You will not get it. I could not understand why my toolposts for the lathe had not come until I realised they are from China. Hope they get sorted out soon as it's so much cheaper for some stuff. Not always the best. Dam Coronavirus.
I read that some factories are re opening soon, but information is sparse, vague and "filtered". I'd like to be a fly on the wall at Apple or Tesla.
Some of the stuff on ebay is saying the seller is away until ????. Must be hurting them pretty bad. Stupid thing as an example I was looking for some Amethyst blue. Found some from british seller. £7.50 for a bag. Found some from Chine £1.75. Uhh & it was the same picture in the ad. Seems many uk sellers are buying bulk from China & reselling in the uk. Making huge mark ups. I bought a Quick change tool post holder for my lathe. There was none in China. In the UK it was nearly £200. Ended up finding one in the good old USA. Bought it. £54.99 + £22 import duty +£17 delivery. Took 3 weeks & tracking it I think it went round the US twice. It came. Lovely bit of Kit. Just what I wanted. On the Side. Made in China.
Coronavirus certainly is, well done to the authorities for prolonging the problem by trying to hide it. I wouldn’t trust any news from China.
I received a seal driver from China, a few weeks ago just before the corona virus story broke, I washed it in soapy water as soon as it arrived, I always do with items from such places as you never know what viruses or bacteria are packed in with the parts (call me Howard Hughes )
I shook 3 different Chinese hands this last 3 days and travelled with one a 100 miles between Leeds and Newcastle is it possible to increase my price and unshake them?

Yep we inport 50% of our stuff from China, most factories shall return on the 17th from an extended New Years Holiday. Leadtimes of a lot of things are going out and 90% of everything made smaller than a match box is from China and 90% of bigger things have China content
The main factory I deal with in China have this morning told me they are closed until 24th Feb but it will be no surprise if the return gets pushed back.
Too late. I have already been waiting since the middle of January Tracking number does not work, I am thinking there is a Chinese Postie running around on a Multistrada somewhere
