I have finally had to throw my Ixon gloves away, they were so worn that there was a hole in the end of the right hand trigger finger. And now the weather is starting to warm up I'm in the market for a new pair of gloves, i'm looking for leather racing style gloves. Any suggestions?
Alpinestars GP Pro. I've got BIG hands but found a pair to fit me. Good fit, excellent knuckle protection and the third and little finger are webbed to stop yuou bashing the sh*t out of you little finger if you tumble. Andy
I have had a few brands. Quality and fit Kushitani, just look a bit dated now, you can get them at a good price on ebay at the moment. Dainese, love Dainese products but found that the knuckles seem to hurt on every pair I have tried after a while, mainly the carbon ones though. Currently got Alpine Stars GP Pro, lovely gloves for the money, only fault with me is that they are a little tight over the palm, sort of forces your hand into a cup slightly. Was going to try Knox Handroids but again the knuckles felt as though they would rub.
Yeah I agree. IMO unless they are for track days only I would stay clear of the top end gloves such as GP Tech, GP Pro or Dainese Full Metal. I have tried all of these and as said they all hold your hand in an uncomfy position even when broken in and can be bad on the knuckles too. The worst pair for me were the GP Pro's, I could hardly move my thumb and regularly got cramp at slower speeds cancelling the indicator etc. I've currently got the Dainese Pro Carbon and they're brilliant on and off track. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=d...MO70QXo1IDwDw&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=480&bih=268
Bit of a tart with summer gloves, got wolf, astars, dainese and at the moment finding the dainese the most comfy. Using the ones just below the metal pro ones whatever they are called. Never had a pair I had to break in, just made sure they were a good fit to start with
I believe the 2012 and 2013 Corse gloves were made by Dainese. Ive a set of Arlen Ness and GP Pro Alpinestrars. Both offer lots of armour and ventilation, but the Gp Pro are miles better, especially the lining on the inside of the glove
+1 on Knox Handroids. Fit really well when broken in, look really good and the ratchet system makes your wrist feel really secure. The gel-like exoskeleton on the back of the hand are a gimmick in my opinion but overall a very well made glove! Previously had Alpinestar GP Pro (which were great in a crash I had when racing btw) and I have to say I wouldn't go back to them after having these Knox.
