Can anyone recommend summer waterproof gloves, make, colour, price are secondary to lightweight waterproof. Thanks
I have some Alpinestars leather gloves with goretex in them as I have been so impressed with their goretex boots. The gloves are indeed pretty waterproof. They are like a normal sort of race glove, although they feel a little stiffer and less comfortable (but I may have a size too small). Whenever it's wet, those are the gloves I wear and I'd recommend them.
I've been looking myself prior to this trip up Scotland but I don't think manufacturers market their wp range as such. You see all of the goretex or wp gloves mention wet or cold (as they would) so I can only presume there's not really a glove specific for summer and wet weather. Imo goretex is the way to go because it's breathable so I'm looking at the dainese offerings
Yeah pretty tricky to find a waterproof summer glove, I tried Dainese pro shop in Bristol last year for some and he told me they didn't really make anything at all like that. Recommended summer gloves and stick a pair of surgical gloves underneath Their Gore-tex range all seemed to be winter lined from what I can remember Could try these from Rev'it? REV'IT! Motorcycle Gloves Drifter H2O WP Or have a look at the Elemet from Klim (big fan of their stuff, have their Overland Jacket and Pants, really good in all weathers so far, it's more of a outer layer but I have a heated inner jacket for round the year riding). It doesn't sound like it has heavy insulation in it and is Goretex
You need goretex gloves with Xtrafit technology. There are a few companies making them. Try Held gloves. Glove Technologies - GORE-TEX® Products
Lindstrands - I have the Zernit gloves but most of their range has a Dryway+ membrane. Kept the hands dry through some very heavy downpours.
I've a pair of waterproof summer gloves Rukka Appollos, and whilst they are waterproof, they are far to hot for summer (above 20degC) use as they make my hands very sweaty . Great in cool spring/autumn temps but not summer . I think any glove with a waterproof lining will just not ventilate enough.
