1299 Super Corsa's On 1299s Panigale From The Showroom?

  1. Hi,

I have recently bought a 2017 1299S with just over 1000 miles on.

It has a set of Super Corsa's on which I assume came with the bike out of the showroom.
They are like new on the sides and worn a bit in the middle.

So with my up and coming Ducati Silverstone track day on 1st September I thought its an ideal time to use the brand new sides of the tyres on this day and for once get even tyre wear form the middle and the sides.

But, do we know if these tyres are the same super soft rubber you buy when you buy them as a track day / race tyre? or are they the same tread pattern, but with a less grippy / longer lasting compound.

Anyone know before I start leaning it over thinking I am on race rubber? Not that I will be doing race speeds or anything, just good for my head.

    Thanks

  2. The standard compound for delivery is SP. This is a sticky road compound that will be more than adequate for inters/bottom end of the
fast group. They don't need warmers, but you could if you wanted to as its easier to set pressures more consistently.

  3. Thanks

If I get the pin delivered for the single sided paddock stand by next week I will sit it on warmers.

If not, what tyre pressures would you set with the tyres cold for the TD?

    thanks

  4. I think the general wisdom is 2-4 psi below road pressures as a starting point at cold.
