Certainly in a test lab, but I very much doubt you'd really notice whilst blatting it down the A12
I use the 98 unleaded in my bike and in my car. Seems to run better and also perhaps as much as 5% better economy. It costs less than 5% more so I'm good
yeah but a waste of money...theyre not set up for higher octane, unlike various performance cars. If its not essential i wouldnt bother..for the best running i would recommend standard octane, branded fuel..let the car have the supermarket stuff (unless youve got some tasty wheels).
Just tried a tank of Shell V Power and the impression was that the engine ran smoother, but then the air temperature was several degrees cooler.
a few years ago i had a BMW M3. i could tell the difference with that. but it was a large engine, it just felt more responsive and snappy...
A lot of German stuff was designed to run on 98 octane fuel, my old Porsche 964 RS should have been 98 octane only, but it was fine on regular unleaded, they have all have a knock sensor so really its not really necessary.
