Evenin', long shot but wondered if anyone on here has signed up for the Superbike School's July 7th session on Brands Indy? If not, anyone who's been on their level 1 course care to give any feedback on what, if anything, they got from the day? My understanding is that they'll take my 16 yrs of bad habits, break 'em down military stylee and replace with new superhuman skills... Would you now say you are faster, better controlled or just the same as before? Also, did you go on to complete the other levels? Thanx...
Did level 1 on May 10th at Silverstone - great day although it poured with rain allday! They pack a lot of info in to the day & I came away feeling a lot more confident & my riding has definitely improved. The last couple of sessions everything you learn throughout the day seems to come into play & I was much faster & smoother in & out of corners. Well worth the money & will be doing level 2. Everyone that worked on the day were really friendly & went out of their way to help. Enjoy it
I did level 1 at the end of May at Silverstone with @SimonT It's an OK day, and I felt like I didn't get much from it until a few track days after when I could put what I learnt into practice Don't go along expecting the pace to be decent though, as it's painfully slow A lot of the sessions are at 60% and you can't use your brakes, so you go largely at the 60% pace of the slowest person in the group Like said above, the sessions don't make too much sense at the time, but on the last couple of sessions, and days on the track thereafter, they start to fall into place I've done 5 track days since, and I find myself doing the things I learnt at CSS, so I certainly took some bits from it and it seems to have helped my lap times The only thing I would say is that 95% of what you learn, is, unless you're not a great road rider at all, only really useable on the track I"m back doing level 2 next month, which I believe concentrates almost exclusively on visuals and spotting entry and exit points, which is one of my weaknesses, so hopefully it'll be worth another £400
Thanks for the feedback Graeme - I figured it might be along those lines but I wasn't sure what to expect. Good to hear your going to do level 2 though as that's approval in my book...
