I’ve really enjoyed the Supersport since January – putting just over 3K miles on it, but decided on something a little more practical. Test rode a V2S but one spec’ed to my requirements comes in at more than £18K which was more than I wanted to spend so started searching for something a little cheaper. After a couple of weeks looking (and touting the Supersport for a PX deal), I came across this 2019 950S at Blade in Cheltenham. Looks like it came with touring and urban packs, and the Evotec radiator / oil cooler / engine guards, and although I could have stretched to something with slightly fewer miles (it's showing just over 9000miles), the PX for the Supersport was good enough to strike a deal. Crash bungs and a Quadlock mount have been added already, and an electronic fuel cap is on its way to me. Also swapped the pillion foot rubbers to the front as they are thinner. Still to do – add some auxiliary lamps; change the charging pigtail to an Optimate one; maybe try some other screen options (touring / vario spoiler), but it’s fine for now Compared with the Supersport – mirrors actually work; headlamps are amazing; clutch is super easy to operate; overall comfort much better*; heated grips almost as hot as BMW ones; menus are super easy to navigate. * Appreciate this is not an 'Apples vs apples' comparision Compared to the V2S – not quite so smooth at low revs; quickshifter (very) slightly less smooth. No other perceptible differences (for me anyway).
