.....are they getting higher? It seems like it looking at Ebay and adverts.........anything between £1500 and £2300 for a good one it seems. Unfortunately the prices don't tally when you want to trade in a Supersport............Apparently 'book prices' are way under £1000....... ..........so don't the guides update and keep up with trends, or do they keep marking the prices down? I hate bl**dy dealers when they get that bl**dy book out..........and that effing smirk on their face when they see what they think they can get away with. AL
Al The golden era of dukes will always rise in value unlike the modern mass produced jap styled stuff!!! Infact the golden era of jap bikes are also going up in value big style! This is the era when man and bike reached a point where the bike was better than man and man could not out ride it!! 848 owners will hate this pmsl Any sports bike made in the early 90's are on the up mate! practical sportsbike mag has a alot to do with this but any real world sportsbike will do
No far from me as i type a freind has sold his latest bragging rights in the bar R1 and a 2000 balde to buy a RC30. Also i have now been imformed a 1098 owner has sold that and bought a 1995 916 no traction control on these lovely real world bikes
But if prices are rising, the dealer's guides certainly aren't reflecting it............ The dealers seem to have two prices to buy the bike and another to retail it....... ....FFS don't go into the whys and wherefores of having to check it over, service it and MOT it; 'cos I have heard it all before and we all know that most of the time they don't do anything to them. My bike (you have seen how clean that is) for a trade-in is worth £700 (almost regardless of what it is being traded in for) but to take it off my hands £500............Two minutes later it will be on the retail forecourt at £1900**. So the retail price goes up, but the dealer price keeps going down.....'kin wrong I reckon. AL ** But it won't be going for that, what with all the spares.
Al, i was offered £300 for mine at a dealer not so long ago, there is no way on earth i would have accepted it, but you are right there are some higher/wildly optimistic prices out there. Also us not having the more desirable 900 will always lead to lower prices for ours But i am now in no hurry to swap/sell mine !
Yeah, but I found summat I would rather like......... AL Your dealer was no doubt Awful Motorcycles? I didn't mean yours was an awful motorcycle.
I'd always wondered how these,"Industry Bibles",actually get their prices. When they do write-ups on new models in truck magazines, they actually put what the truck will be worth as a trade-in in X many years hence....and the bloody things aren't even on the market yet! With those powers of prediction I'd forget vehicle prices, and stick to picking Lottery numbers For all the misery that ebay inflicts, you still get the true value of something on there if it sells,i.e,whatever someone thinks it's worth,(at that particular moment in time of course-one listing might get sweet f.a,the next week you relist and a bidding war breaks out....)
