1200 DVT Suspension Damage

  1. Hi All

Bought a 19k miles 2015s dvt from Leeds Ducati and it’s an absolute shambles.

anongst the very long list of issues the suspension had very little oil in it, the bushes are wrecked and it’s scored all the inside of the tube. Are replacements readily available or can the tube be repaired or am I just going to have replace the bushes every year as they are likely to wear down pretty quickly? Many thanks

  2. How long since you bought it? If it’s not that long ago I’d just give it back to them and quote the sale of goods act. Get your money back and buy another

  3. Are you talking the front or rear? My ohlins rear just gave up the ghost at 68k & pissed out the oil, bounces about like a rodeo-bull jobbie. Got a second-hand one to be fitted at OYB next month ...3hours fitting seems excessive. The ohlins rear was changed under a recall within a year or so.

What is the story exactly, they've damaged the suspension or you've found it damaged once the bike was brought?

  4. Front suspension. The mechanic has stripped the forks and the bushes are gone and the fork tube inside is damaged, rough and rutted. He said this would continue to wear the bushes more quickly now so either they will need replacing regularly or I need to get a new fork leg.

  5. 12 months since I bought it. First service since it left Ducati Leeds. It was serviced then but obviously not had any in depth check to it.

  6. 12 months puts you outside of that grace window if memory recalls. I think your long term solution is new fork tubes. Maybe something second hand?

  7. Many thanks for taking the time to respond.

  8. Where can one buy new fork legs from please? Mine are too badly scored to use for any length of time?

  9. I would have a word with Leeds and ask what their best price is in view of the fact they sold you the bike without checking it over fully.

  10. Independent dealer found some forks from a Ducati dealer in Netherlands. £500. The forks on mine were wrecked. Just kept chewing up the bushes.
