V4 Suspension Issue?

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Ash34, Jun 20, 2019.

  1. Does anybody know about suspension issues with the V4S?

Specifically both front and rear going rock hard (almost unrideable on track) once warmed-up but fine for the first 10 minutes?

  2. Is there a DSS fault? IIRC when the Multi skyhook faults, therefore defaults the bike, everything is hard rather than soft

  3. Well I’m asking for a friend. Logically it’s a DSS fault that is common or central to the system because both front and rear are going hard.

He does 2 laps and then the fault appears. The bike was perfect for the first year of its life and now suddenly this.

What’s the story with the Multis?

  4. Not the S model but a friend has a V4 and he says the rear shock is that hard it makes the bike virtually unridesble.
    The from forks are fine.

His shock went to Maxton to put a softer spring on but they told him that the springs would not work as the damping is all wrong and you cannot get parts to alter the shock.
They are buildings a shock for him.

They said something about the linkage being wrong for road use but is fine for a smooth track.

  5. That doesn’t sound the same problem but thanks for the input.

  6. Strange issue, I'd have thought it must be an electrical control issue as you say since if there was a dampening fluid issue it usually goes soft and ineffective when it gets hot?

  7. Wont be fluid, imagine how hear it would work to get too hot after a couple of laps!! Unless the sensor thinks it is, and is over compensating

Think I'd set preload as soft and settings soft and see if it still goes rock hard. Then work from there
