Evening guys, Currently trying to configure my front forks with the Ohlins app, it’s suggesting a sag of 65mm (with rider on) but with the pre-load full open (anti clockwise) I can only achieve 45mm, what else can I try? Do I need to ride it about for abit for it to settle anymore or is 65mm too much anyway Cheers Adam
Sounds silly - but how are you measuring - the Start point needs to be with weight off the wheels - have you done that? Then you would then lower bike and get maybe 30mm of sag with just weight of bike and 60mm sag bike + rider. The 30mm and 60mm numbers are just estimates - as it all depends on fork travel for the bike. If you are doing all this correctly - you need an assistant to measure for you when you are sat on bike and someone else keeping is upright - then you need lighter springs - but unless you are likely less than 70KG you should not have an issue with stock springs. The compression damping also limits the movement as it assists (reduces) how quickly forks compress - so just for setting purposes - open them to minimum. Remember where you started - because minimum compression and rebound damping could give you a pogo stick ride...
I have measured as described in the manual and on the app, top of hub cast and to the top of the inner tube. It measure as you say 30mm between no load static sag but just can’t get it to drop much more with me on it (probably around 10-15mm), I weigh ~75kg +the leathers/boots/helmet etc. I think the compression and rebound damping are set to factory settings
