After a long love affair, the Multistrada and I have decided to part ways. After stripping it down, cleaning it up, and returning it to standard, I have a set of SW-Motech TraxADV panniers, Pro Side Carriers and a Top Rack for sale. The side cases are Black TraxADV 37-litre. They are in very good condition. There are no dents, scratches or scuffs - TRAX ADV M Side case Aluminum 37 litre Left Black (sw-motech.co.uk) The side carriers are the SW-Motech Pro Side Carriers - PRO Side Carrier Ducati Multistrada 1200/1260 / 950 (15-) Black (sw-motech.co.uk) Every nut, bolt, and washer is present and correct, and the side carriers will fit 1200, 1260 or 950 Multistrada from 2015 onwards. The side carriers are fitted with the mounting kit for the TraxADV side cases, and there are locks to prevent them from being removed from the bike without the key. When I was fitting the side carriers, I noticed that there was a clash between them and the factory top case mounts, so included in the kit is a replacement top case mounting kit - Alu-Rack Ducati Multistrada 1200 / S (15-) Black (sw-motech.co.uk) As the standard Ducati Luggage uses the same mounts as Givi, there is also a Givi mount top plate included, that fixes onto the SW-Motech rack. Adapter plate for ALU-RACK For Givi/Kappa Monokey Black (sw-motech.co.uk) I’m based in Newark, Nottinghamshire, and collection in person is preferred due to the bulk. I’d also prefer you to see everything and be happy with the condition before parting with any money. There is always the option to meet somewhere in the middle. Just to be clear, there is NO top box included. As there are so many parts to this, I’m happy to photograph any specific parts you wish to see. The overall condition of everything is very (very) good. If you have any questions, please ask. For Sale as a complete kit, which I don’t wish to separate. Asking £550 collected.
Good afternoon I have the oem topbox mount and an sw motech pannier rail that I had hoped to fit to my 1200s, but before I even started to unbolt everything realised that the oem topbox mount was using 2 of the same fixings below the seat......is this the only snag or are there others that you discovered that would prevent mounting the sw motech pannier rails? I'm considering making some small mod's to the fixing points using spacers and longer mounting points to see if I can make them work? The only concern I have of changing the topbox mount to the sw motech is that I have read somewhere that it puts alot of weight on the handrail which has been known to snap, resulting in the topbox departing the bike? Any tips/info greatly received I have to say what you are offering is extremely good value to anyone that is just buying there first Multi , I have other options otherwise I would be interested....I do know someone who has just bought a 1260 2019 so I will pass this on to them just in case.
Hi David, Sorry for the late reply, the internet demons put you in the junk mail. Snapping hand rails - Never come across that, and I think I'd be very doubtful of it happening. The SW-Motech topbox plate attaches in two places on either side (4 total). I toured Europe for a month with the container-sized Givi top box attached and have had zero issues. Short of putting 50 lbs of lead in the top box and then riding off-road, I can't see a problem. There is one bracket for the panniers that uses the same attachment to the bike as the original top box arms. That is the clash that requires the SW-Motech top box mounts if you have the Pro Side Carriers. There should be no need to modify the bike at all. It is bolt-on / bolt-off between the SW-Motech and the OEM system. Thank you for the referral - I'm in the UK, so shipping could be a tad expensive Cheers Dave
Hi Dave Thanks for that, I think I may have solved the issue found a givi pannier rack on ebay which I have now purchased awaiting delivery, the instructions show an arrangement with the oem topbox mount so hoping it will work.....will then give me option for soft or hard cases. Im in UK my original profile was incorrect, not sure why it defaulted to USA but now got the administrators to change to UK Thanks for the help Cheers Dave
Just out of interest, what size was the top box in the picture? Was it the same make as the others? Thanks.
