  1. howdy. t.belt time and i no longer have a CD for the fugliest of fuglys, an 1100s. anyone know offhand what they are? same for the sump plug.
    cheers.

  2. 26nm for the movable tensioner nuts and 42nm for the sump, although I 'd be a bit wary of tightening the sump plug as tight as that.

  3. 42Nm for the sump plug sounds excessive.

  4. nice one. cheers folks. :upyeah:
a tomorrow job as the weather is looking a bit pish. maybe 30nm and a wee bit of thread tape for safe measure on the sump plug i think.

  5. Thread tape, or I do believe Ducati recommend a smear of 3bond (or some other suitable silicone sealant) these days

  6. aww bollox. for a mo there i was almost ready to argue the merits of thread tape over 3bond. i must be approaching that certain age. :(
but, it's just that haven't got any 3bond or equivalent at home and arguing is what i do anyhoo. so all's good. :upyeah:

  7. I got both three bond and thread tape. :p Call yourself a mechanic. Pfff

  8. meh, i also didnt have a strong enough 6mm Allan socket for the tensioners so had to make do with a decent torx bit set i keep in me shed. its been 5 or 6 years since i changed them last and forgot it was Allan keys. and ferk knows why i bothered bringing home my torque wrench as i wasn't happy with the 30nm i put the sump plug to. so went a bit more until it felt right.
the belts that came off were still in good Knick, but supper slack. (cycleworks) i refitted the ducati set, i may of over tensioned them, but they aint singing when the engine is up to full temperature so i guess they will be fine.
