Dear all, I have recently bought a Dark 821 and put a nice tail tidy from Motodynamics. I decided to remove the passenger handlebars. However, as you can see from the picture below, I still have those ugly bolts/screws... How can I get something cleaner? Do I have to change the seat undertail cover or simply find shorter bolts/screws? Also, as the bike did not come with it, I am thinking about adding a seat cowl cover. Shall I opt for the official Black Matte ? The Ducati Carbon one (looks glossy) or a Motocorse one (looks matte)? Any picture of the different options? https://imgur.com/a/yMd81 Thanks a lot for your help !
For the seat cowl, I ordered the official Ducati. On the ugly screws, is it because my fendor eliminator was not made for removing the passenger handles? Any suggestion? Thanks !
I think the seat cowl will hide them well. I ride an 821 Stripe that has a seat cowl as standard and I've thought of removing the grab handles also, so I'd like to see a photo once you've fitted the seat cowl.
I did the same on my 1200S - I have an evotech tail tidy and the fixings for that look ok, although the stainless fittings for the handles are quite chunky. I reckon lower-profile screws would solve the issue for you. Just measure the threads and order off ebay.
I finally ordered the Rizoma under-tail. Will see in 2 weeks when it's delivered ! Edit: I just realised it might not fit with the MD license plate holder... Will see..
Grab rails are easy enough to remove but even with the seat cowl fitted the standard length bolts stick out quite away.
