I was looking in the owners manual to get the rear wheel nut torque setting for chain adjustment. The manual says "take it to your dealer to adjust the chain". So even the most basic of tasks; they don't want you do do. !!!!!!!
Think they have to say that. Most things are written to cover their ass as well as make sure if you claim under warranty, you didn't do something daft like adjust the chain as tight as a banjo string .
It’s an easy job to do , just check , adjust and check again , follow the instructions and away you go . Nothing to worry about .
Normally this sort of menial work is undertaken by the butler, but if Ducati remcommend I let the dealer take care of it, then I shall jolly well get them to do it in future.
The problem is not many of us have the correct tools to get to the very high torque settings on the rear wheel nut torque, sometimes a long crowbar is also needed.
The chain adjustment on a twin spar swing arm is an inaccurate job at best. The alignment marks provided are not the most accurate. As we have a Scrambler Icon and will be getting a Monster, both with twin spar swing arms, I invested in a Profi Cat laser alignment tool from Bikemart in Cornwall. A bit more of a faff but confidence that the wheel alignment is spot on. Andy
What the current Ducati Official Labour charge per hour? I'll bet they'd like everyone to buy as much of their time as they can pay for...
I had my V4S serviced today, when asked they advised the double swinging arm rear axle nut is torqued to 180 Nm, the 280 Nm is the single sided swing arm.
