Taking The Plunge... Euro Track Holiday - Oct/nov

Discussion in 'Trackdays & Rider Skills' started by MaxDec10, Sep 3, 2016.

  1. Hello all,

After months, if not years of mulling this idea over, I'm taking the plunge and booking a 3-4 day track holiday. I'm after a little advice from those lucky buggers on here that seem to always be jetting off on euro track days. ;)

1, I've got a £2,500 budget. Will this get me a 4 day trip with bike included?
2, Which operators do you recommend?
3, Which track best for Oct/Nov?
3, Could £2,500 be spent in a better way? i.e - Ask what a UK provider will give me for similar money. I was thinking Anglesey for 4 days could be nice and save me all the travel and a bit of money.
4, Any other advice would be grand.

    Thank M

  2. You can go for much less than your budget
For example, we're off to Cartagena for 4 days in Oct with No Limits for £499, which includes them getting your bike over there, the time on track and accommodation. Flights and hire car on top of that are around £180
If you're thinking of hiring a bike, most TDO's have hire companies that you can use for around £250/day, so that brings you up to a total of £1,679

  3. As above you can book a 3 day euro TD from £400 that will include track time, hotel (shared room) inc breakfast and bike transport from their base. If you want local pick up (usually a track) add £100.

You'll then needs flights and probably car hire, if there's a few of you going at least the car hire costs get split.

Big expense may be tyres as you'll need another set usually which you can pack with the bike or buy beforehand from the tyre man who will be on the trip, plus fuel for 3 days.

Couple of beers and food in the evening to also factor in.

All in will be around £1500 as a rough estimate.

I always use no limits but have used a few others previously including FE, Tracksense have a good rep I believe.

  4. Redline Trackdays are a new provider and we found them very good. Find via Google

Tracksense and pacedays by far the most expensive but less busy in general on track. No limits probably cheapest and by far busiest. Focussed event for many to be avoided.

450-800 for trackday, 200 flight, set of tyres, share car with someone else 80, beer and food whatever you would normally spend on holiday with mates

  5. Thanks fellas,

I'll be contacting a couple of operators tomorrow to see if there's a cancellations list for the October trips. I'm leaning towards the Tracksense trip to Almeria in early October.

I would take my bike but I'm all the way down near Penzance so dropping the bike off and then collecting after to trip would be a right ball ache.

  6. Are you renting one then? Maybe worth asking how much to collect and return yours.

  7. Redline have just bought some hire bikes and Mick the driver will collect anywhere.

  8. I'm gonna definitely hire on this trip. After tyres, bike transport, my extra travel costs and of course 'extra time'... Sod it! I'll treat myself and hire a 1000 of some type. I fancy just packing my leathers and lid in my bergen and setting off with dreams of getting my elbow down on every bend. Ha

I'll let you know what deal TS can do tomorrow.
