Hello. I’m am new here so sorry if this has been posted before... I am looking at purchasing a 2020 diavel 1260s and around 6ft3 tall.. will the standard bike be comfy or will it need adjustment? I suffer knee and lower back pain and the mt07 I’ve been on has ruined my knee! don’t want to end up getting the wrong bike but this looks like it could work.. test rides arent really long enough for me so looking for people’s opinions.. thanks so much And nice to meet you all. Thanks again. Nick
Does the version you’re interested have the option for forward controls at all, that could alleviate any knee problems. It’s a little odd at first after switching from standard controls but you soon get used to it. I know on my Sportster I can move the controls to standard should I choose to, forward controls are so much more comfortable. It seems you need longer test rides.
I'm 6'3" as well and I bought a 1260s as I fancied something different and was quite pleased with it but found the riding position a bit low. Fitting the Comfort/Touring seat raises the seat by around 40mm and I changed the bars to more straight and forwards. I also have rearsets which lift the peg heights slightly and back - I find this is a much better riding position. So it looks like this now:
My mate (also 6'3") was happy with his. He says he can't comment on the knee issue but "the position was fine, but I naturally started to lean backwards which affected control. Had to mentally lean forward to keep arms parallel to ground."
