I find the screen on my 848 Evo too low, so would like to get something taller, but which screen? I've read that double bubbles can cause issues with the clocks melting - is that true? I also don't particularly want a dark screen, which a lot of the ones I've found seem to be. I've been looking at the DP tall screen, which looks like it's available as either clear or tinted, although not sure how dark it is Does anyone have the DP tall screen, and if so, would anyone be kind enough to post up a picture? Any ideas where is best to buy? Searching the net only seems to throw up non UK sites and I would rather source one from the UK. If possible..
Thanks Idrinkbeer - where did you get it from? I've just been looking at their Solo Pista screen but again, can't seem to find find a UK supplier? Just to add, I did find Fabbri-screens.co.uk but the site just comes up with a 'cannot connect to server' error
I think they are called lm spares.i google searched and clicked on the second address, its fabbri-screens.co.uk........then ordered the db clear screen for 1098/848 for 69.99 inc postage. I managed to find a Ducati Performance clear tall screen, as I couldn't see the clocks. Haven't got a picture to post, but there are some in my gallery Edited to add: Here you go!
I'm liking the DP screen a lot.... Are they still available from Ducati dealers, or do I need to start hunting for a second hand one?
I've got the DP one in dark tint. I couldn't get hold of a clear one and wanted the DP as it's the only single profile (non double bubble) one I could find anywhere... and I looked a lot! I'll try and post a pic. Here goes...
No worries! Got mine from Ducati Glasgow. If your local Ducati shop don't have it or can't get it, call Harry at DG on 0141 333 0996 and they'll help you out. They do mail order no probs too. I am delighted with this screen, the stock one was crap. I don't mind windblast and I've never changed a screen before on any of my bikes but I had to on the 848 as the wind hit me right in the face.
Thanks Andy... That's exactly the problem I'm having, but not sure on the look of a double bubble. I'll give my local Ducati dealer a call in the morning
Got my clear one from Snells online after being messed around by the Sheffield dealer (sent me a standard screen after confirming they had a clear tall screen & then saying that they hadn't had a tall clear screen) Clear screen is discontinued so dealer with no stock can't order it in.
I am always amazed how quickly Ducati discontinue their aftermarket kit, after all the DP screens fitted the 848 which was only discontinued late last year.
Same goes for the duo seat covers, there are only red ones still available from Ducati for the 848/1*98. I've got a Zero Gravity Corsa screen on my 848. It's about as high as most double bubble screens, but it's a better shape IMO than the double bubble RMA screen it replaces. Fit and finish is spot-on.
Well I've found a DP tinted tall screen - Ordered/paid for and should be here on Thursday, now just the fitting to do, but looks easy enough. I managed to order a Duo seat through my dealer when I bought my bike - £75 which I thought was a mistake, as they seem to go for that used but it turned up (although in typical Ducati fashion, it took 5 weeks)
Just to add a bit of a conclusion to the thread, my new screen arrived on Thursday, and I fitted it on Friday (not the nicest job in the world unless you have the hands of a 4 year old) I took it out yesterday, and it makes a massive difference. Just a bit gutted I couldn't get a clear one, still, it's growing on me....
IMO the tint looks much better on the bike than the clear would - it compliments the whole bike mate! I like it a lot!
Yip, I agree. I wasn't convinced at first, but after a week or so with mine fitted I really liked it. I now prefer it over the stock profile by a long way. As it happens, the second choice if I couldn't get one of the DP screens was the Zero Gravity Corsa. The single profile screens are definitely neater than the double bubble ones.
