Anyone got a 2" half decent length of a knackered tank breather hose they can chuck my way please?......you know the one I mean, sort of three sided.......... ......the one between the valve and the tank spigot has perished, and there isn't enough left in the long run for me to nick a bit..... AL PS.........Taken a faulty valve apart today to find out what was wrong with it and how they work.......Oooer....... .........looks like internal corrosion is the main enemy............try to avoid getting them wet. However, now I know how it works, I'm going looking for an alternative instead of the £40+ thing that Ducati want to sell me....
You missed a new tank breather on ebay this week,i missed bidding on it....it sol for less than £3 gutted.
I could do with a spare breather, but I already have a new one (couple of years old, actually) but it started to come apart......a tiny spot of supaglue sorted it...........so anyway, I pulled the dodgy one apart and can now see why they fail....... I'm hoping paulk563 picked up the ebay one....... But......its the short length of hose I am after.....
I've got some here Al if you want a bit. There is a bike thing on tomorrow local, I did think about going to have a look later in the afternoon, others wise I think were about.
Cheers Lumbux...........It's only 50mm I need..... But I doubt if I will be riding for a few days...............just been to A & E.......somehow I have damaged my eye and got a cut on the cornea and a burst bl**d vessel (looks delightful!) so I can't stick my contact lenses in......
Cheers...........I have managed to find a bit of rubber tube this morning, but I expect it will break down quickly and not last five minutes....... .........and of course the two year old breather valve finally came apart as I removed it......... Cleaned all the components and re-assembled it (correctly) and carefully stuck the two halves together with a drip of Loctite 638.........it won't come apart now........... ...not convinced its working properly, but then I wasn't convinced it was OK when I first got it.......Testing it with the bike in the sun right now........
