Hi all, dunno if any of you have noticed, but the rear disk has little steel (I assume) pins on each of the mounting lugs. Any ideas what these are for ? The slotted 'sonic wheel' is the abs sensor, so its not that. Just wondering as I have noticed the after market wavy disks don't seem to have these pins. Cheers, John.
Never seen one but from what you've wrote i guess they're mounting lugs to secure the disk until you start bolting it up.
Thanks for the quick reply. so if the disk doesn't have them, does that mean the speedo won't work ? Daft question, but out of interest given the disk is essentially the same as that used on the 1098 and 1198 (not the same part number though) which don't appear to have the buttons, how does that bike sense its speed ? Or are there different disks depending on whether its a 1x98 S or not ? I bought a rear wavy disk for an 1198S that supposedly fits the MTS too, but doesn't have the pins
No pins no speedo, bolt heads have been used before Here you can see how it works, notice the pick up and the pin
bugger. Thanks for the reply, guess I'll have to see if they will take it back, since they said it would fit...
