On the 1198, the oem link pipes are welded to the oem cans, so yes, you will need the Termi link pipes, unless you are fitting them to a full system, where the links pipes are not needed.
The parts diagram shows and lists the stock end cans and link pipe as separate items on both the 1098 and 1198, not welded. Andy
