1260 Termi Full System, Up Map & Servo Eliminator

  1. Just installed a full Termi system with up map on my new 2019 1260S. I’m wondering whether the up map disables the servo motor completely. If so, can I remove the servo motor, bracket and cable without any problem, or the bike still looks for the servo and I’d need to use a servo eliminator. Is this something most of y’all do to save weight and clean things up or it’s like your appendix meaning if it’s not bothering you, don’t remove it.

  2. Who installed your system ? Surprised they didn’t give you the option. In the scheme of things, saving 500 grams on a 200+ kilo bike + rider isn’t IMO sufficient compensation for the faff entailed in removing the motor which requires fingers the size a 9 year old has. Andy

  3. I ended up installing the system myself - long story. My dealer is programming the up map.

  4. I have a full decat system on my 1st generation Multistrada from an era of no upmap so fitted a defeat weight on the motor. It’s worked for 6 years but was a frustratingly fiddly job, especially as I have 3XL hands with chipolata sausages for fingers. Feel free to remove it but remember to deal with the live connectors you leave behind. Andy

  5. Well I’m trying to determine whether the upmap “kills” the ECU looking for the servo, or it’ll still look for the servo and thus a servo eliminator device is required.

  6. The upmap I am sure, deletes the servo. If you do a search, I’m sure you will find confirmation. Andy
