996 Termi Options - Deep Dive

Discussion in '748 / 916 / 996 / 998' started by 92GTA, Jan 10, 2023.

  1. In researching my 996R, and also from memory 20+ years ago, there were a ton of Termi options for the 996/998 and I'd like to start a thread that discusses all the available Termi options from Ducati in the era. I'll leave ECUs and UpMaps out for simplicity. - My specific questions are in bold.

So starting with the 996R out of self-interest, the serialized road bikes came with:

    A) Installed SS alloy Termi exhaust (no colour Termi decals but had the Termi & Ducati logos stamped into them). Easily spotted by no rivets on either end of the cans or decal.
    B) Race carbon Termi silencer "slip-ons", 50mm (colour Termi decals). - Was the metal portion SS or titanium on these?

In addition to the above that shipped with the 996R, from memory, there were these options available as parts from Ducati:

    C) Race carbon Titanium "FULL" system, 50mm (colour Termi decals)
    D) Race Titanium "slip-ons", 50mm (colour Termi decals)
    E) Race Titanium "FULL" system, 50mm (colour Termi decals)
    F) Race Titanium or carbon were also available as a "FULL" 54mm system (colour Termi decals)

The FULL systems were characterized by having a single oval exhaust port flange as opposed to a 2-into-1, is this correct?

I've heard that there was a 57mm FULL Ti system available? That was mostly used on the RS bikes? Not sure what the F01 bikes ran, but probably this?

Am I missing anything? Any other Termi options for the 996/998 or in any other sizes I missed?

When measuring to figure out the mm size of a system, is that referring to the OD or ID? The OD on my 996R's alloy road slip-ons is 50.50mm. What is the wall thickness on these? I measure 1.10mm on my 996R's alloy road slip-ons. Was the entire length of the system identical in size?

    Thanks!

  2. Termignoni, 996R/998S, 50mm Carbon End Cans and Ecu kit, P/n 96419102b. Steel pipe and end cap, not titanium. Andy

  3. It also looks like there were half systems available with mid-pipes, in addition to just the slip-ons or full systems. It looks like these half systems served to install 54mm slip-ons onto a 50mm exhaust.

  4. 54mm race system also available in steel. And of course, being a race part, no part number. Well, certainly not on the one I've got. Andy

  5. I found P/Ns in the 2001 accessory catalogue for aluminium slip-ons as well, 50mm, colour decal, race. They have more of a gloss sheen compared to the Titanium which is more satin on the cans - and would have rainbow colour on the welds of course.
