- before u say - yes have searched forums and previous posts.... fitting new termi and ecu, the exhaust cable is therefore redundant, can someone please say : 1. The actual valve mechanism is turned off by the ecu so the cable won't go up and down right ? (the motor will be 'off') 2. The actual cable is on the right, hidden under the regulator, and judging by pictures its a pain to get out...do I really need to remove it ? can I just zip tie the end somewhere - will it rust ? or shall I remove it really as its not a pain...(i am keeping the standard exhaust to maybe refit one day so I dont want to remove it if i dont have to) - a pic of a wound and zipped up one would be appreciated. thanks! bugs.
Yes if you fit the Ducati performance ECU this will disable the motor action, so as you say it will become redundant, but as you may switch back to the standard set up one day you would be wise to keep the motor, and either, just remove the cable (although this will be difficult to refit at the motor end) or just tie the cable up neatly behind the frame spar somewhere. I think this is the option i would choose, leaving you the option to reverse the termi and ECU fitment. My cable is fitted to the QD system with a dummy actuater mechanism on the exhaust but it doesnt do anything as my actuator motor is also redundent after my CJS remap. Hope this helps
I took the cable off my bike and stuck it up in the loft with the OE exhaust in case I ever re-fit it. It was actually very easy to take the cable off, and there's no chance of it rusting / coming loose etc. so I'd do that if I were you.
Me too but I didn't find it easy to take the cable off. I found that by removing the bottom subframe fixing bolts and loosening the top ones I could pivot the subframe back far enough to remove the exhaust valve motor and undo the cable. I put it back together with the exh valve motor in place.
Cheers chaps, have posted the same in us site, since I am tackling this final job this weekend as part two of two of my crash mechanic course am gonna need as much info advice as possible as I don't wanna bodge it....too much
Me too just cabled tied out of the way with full termi system will use when I sell and put the old system back on
Well all done, thanks for help - removed it in the end. took about 30 mins. My advice is to remove it as it quite straightforwardish. Need someone to help and hold this and that but that's all. Bugs
Quick note to all! Full termi rocks , now in third week, rain and cold with only ocasional dry spell no matter, bike is transformed. Bugs
