Termignoni exhaust systems

  1. Hi guys,

I'm shopping around for a full termi system for my MTS 1200S (2011). I have a couple of quotes, for me to buy and fit the system (not sure it will be overly tough, can't imagine it being as simple as the 748/9** bikes though) I'm looking at around £1,500 for the system new.

For it to be procured through a garage and fitted by said garage, I'm looking at £1,800.

These are silly figures if you ask me, does anyone know anywhere that can offer a lower price? I don't mind fitting my self. Ultimately, I don't mind buying second hand either.

I would probably prefer the titanium system over the carbon fibre. But again, not fussed.

I don't want the slip on, doesn't look right if you ask me, and I doubt it would sound as good. Unless a 2-1 link pipe works with it? But again, not sure.

  2. As far as I'm aware, the full Termi for the MTS is Ti only, no carbon option.

It's a pretty involved job, the stock exhaust can put up a fight to remove, and fitting the ECU requires stripping down most of the front end plastic and removing the tank for access.

  3. I just took the bike to have new rubber slapped on, and the tyre guy took the exhaust off in 5 mins. The silencer anyway.

With patience I'm sure it won't be too hard. So I'm more than happy to attempt it.

I would much rather a termi than a SC project, Mivv or the likes I think.

  4. £1500 is a pretty good deal. It is quite involved, but not difficult. Just patience...and a bit of swearing ;) At £1800 it's more or less RRP with free fitting.

  5. Well, it's actually £1586 then what ever shipping, so more like £1600 for the system...

  6. Ok. For reference, you may already know though, the RRP on the kit is £1695.30 inc. If you're in a hurry, make sure they have stock 'cause it's showing as not available at the moment on the parts system ;)

  7. The tailpipe cover is but a moments work, one would hope purposely so because it has to come off for tyre changes.

Trying to free the front downpipe, rear downpipe lower section and cat is the fun part, especially if they've been on a while and are firmly stuck together. Then you have the cabling for the exhaust valve to wrangle. It's not particularly complex, just tedious, awkward and frustrating. It took me about 4-5hrs in total, probably cut that down a bit next time with the prior experience.
