1098 Test For Polarity On Fiat 3 Pin Connector

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Dokus, Dec 11, 2022.

  1. I'm about to connect my fiat 3 pin obd cable for the first time to my 1098 and have previously been told to check polarity so i won't burn the ECU. I do find continuity between the middle pin och the 3 pin and black alligator clip but nothing on the to others. Is that ok or anything else I need to check? Where does the red alligator clip goes if not to the 3 pins?

I've been googling but have not found any assuring answers.

  2. A witch will be along shortly to assist, after which a burning will occur. It’s witchcraft I tell thee.

  4. It is a person with real knowledge will want to see what the first answer is, it’s like a test to see who’s the electrical numpty. You’ll get a quicker answer this way trust me.

  6. It's not to late. Black goes to the left on the battery, right? ;)

  7. All I’m saying is live to live ground to ground, you may be colour blind or I might be…….And no this answer doesn’t warrant me being burnt for a witch…..
