939 Test Ride

Discussion in 'Hypermotard' started by duke63, Apr 10, 2016.

  1. Test rode one yesterday as still undecided as to whether to keep my 2013 Multi, p/ex for a DVT Multi or go for something different like a Hyper.

Really enjoyed the ride ( apart from that awful seat) but just a little concerned that maybe a Hyper would not be up to my annual Euro trip.

The bike is so confidence inspiring and even up to... errr.... higher speeds was still OK for a short while though obviously its not in the same league as the Multi for motorways.

Any comments on long term ownership much appreciated. I've made no decision as yet and to be honest the test ride has probably made me more undecided as suspected the Hyper might be too one dimensional but it was more than a thought it would be.

  2. What you think of engine , Revvy , low down punch ?? Over all feel of it ...... have you rode the 1100 hyper ?

  3. No not ridden an 1100. The 939 comes alive at about 6000rpm when there is some serious overtaking shunt.

To be fair the bike i rode had only 40 miles on it when i took it out and over 110 when i took it back. Even enjoyed it in the pissing rain. Loads of grip and not at all nervous or flighty which is what i thought it might be.

  4. Opposite to the 1100 then, which comes alive about 3k with a thump

  5. I put the sports seat on mine so much better you can move around rather than being stuck in one position.

  6. I'm toying with the idea of one as a country road toy , the more I read the more I'm drawn to the 1100

  7. I took one out the other week , I kinda loved it. The plan was for a bike to slow me down as I find it just too easy to go over 70 mph on a 1098 type bike . The test ride just made me more of a hooligan on lower speeds instead !!!
I get your thoughts on the one dimensional aspect which is why I'm torn between a motard and a Strada. Part of me says I bike like this should not be played with to pretend it can nip to France , it's built to nip between bends as fast as possible !!!
There's one 1100 in the ads section that has been used for long Europe trips and he loved it . I've looked at it and it's cracking and at a great price too but there is also an SP for £7000 that I like as well .
To be honest I cant make my mind up which I do want myself.

  8. Riders Cardiff told me the strada luggage will fit on the 939 SP too if that's any help.

  9. The Hyperstrada luggage fits on the SP Motard. This is the way i might be edging but we will see. I do need another DVT test ride first though.
