Following on from my research into the hexadecimal code held in the 848/1098/1198 dash I now believe that I have cracked the way the odometer reading is retained in the dash by checksum. My research is paper based as I do not have access to a bike or dash to experiment with. I have, however, tested the research on known data relating to Ducati odometers. I am trying to find anyone with a second hand dash fitted to their bike who wishes to change the odometer reading to correctly match their bike. The research was done using data from the 848/1098/1198 family of bikes but it appears that it may also relate to other bikes produced by Ducati. I have created 3 excel documents. The first is a tool to calculate the checksum. The second is a tool to convert the required odometer reading (in Kilometres) to hexadecimal. The third is a combination of 1&2. Change the file name from .pdf to .xlsm to use. Please give feedback.
