Thank goodness for roadworks

  1. Well in this case anyway ...

Very short stretch of resurfacing on the A358 outside Taunton at Thornfalcon with temporary traffic lights. Filter all the way to the front and then you have the road totally clear ahead of you all the way to the roundabout on the A303. Then on the way back you have a bit of traffic to overtake but absolutely nothing coming the other way. BLAT!

If you are round Taunton way get out there and enjoy before they finish the resurfacing!

  2. They can make life fun sometimes can't they. People get so stressed when you filter to the front, no idea why, it is not like you are going to hold them up once you get moving is it?

  3. I see plenty of stroppy individuals on my daily commute (A34 & Oxford Ring Road). McVities prize goes to the guy who was so adamant I wasn't going to get past he actually pulled all the way over the centre line on the dual carriageway, forcing the car in the other lane to move over towards the shoulder...

...and so leaving a huge gap on the right hand side for me to blast through. :upyeah:

  4. Is that a commute on 2 wheels? I travel up the A34 to Iffley once or twice a week, often take the 900SS, it saves around 20 minutes on the journey time largely from getting past the traffic queue for the park & ride

  5. Yeah, it's the only way really, otherwise I have to waste a load of time going on further to the P&R and then catching the bus into the Churchill. Only willing to tolerate that ballache in winter because it's better than being dead - last winter was the first in this new job and the first in over a decade of not riding through winter, it's simply too dangerous.
