Thanks All And Ducati Proteam

  1. Wanted to say thanks to everyone who instantly recommended Ducati Proteam and Alec on my newbie thread for my Servicing, a real eye opener on what you should get for your pound notes.

Got a 748 a month or so ago and sent it off to Alec for a Major service. When looking to buy a Ducati I knew servicing wasn't going to be cheap but what I got for the money I'd happily pay for on my car etc when you drill it down. Service from Alec was better than anything I've had before and the pick up and delivery, seeing as I'm in Essex, was rediculously cheap.

Never owning a Ducati before I didn't know how the bike should feel, sound etc. I drove the bike down from Gloucester to get it home and didn't feel like it was loose etc but now I've got it back from Alec how it should be I understand what all the fuss is about. It was a dog in local roads but is now smoother, it felt like the steering dropped in as you tipped into the corner but somehow it seems like I'm steering the bike round the corners instead of adjusting what the bike wants to do. Can't explain it but I'm officially hooked now I know what a race bike should feel like.

Bring on next summer and thanks Ducati Proteam.

  2. I have known Alec at Proteam since 2001 when he based at the old dog track in Wimbledon. Serviced my 851 for yrs. Top bloke and knows his Dukes, should do he was a race mechanics for GR Ducati. Heard he was pretty nimble on his 851 SP2. Although he is v modest if you ask him.

  3. Yep, a top bloke and the only person I would trust to work on any of my bikes ;-)
