Recently I was thinking about selling my bike (I blame lack of riding syndrome) today was the first time in ages where I've been out on a decent run in ages AND its been dry and sunny, I forgot just how addictive the 1098 motor sounds/feels when you whack open the throttle!! Its combination of engine, intake and exhaust. Awesome! Just need more sunny days to un-square my tyres lol
Hi, I've been in a similar frame of mind for a while, was thinking of changing my 1098s. Had a couple of replacements in mind, Panni 899 or Daytona 675R but thought before I did anything rash I should get the 1098 out for a good ride after a long wet winter. That day was yesterday so I brimmed the tank and scooted off through Cheshire and in to the Welsh borders. 130 odd miles later I was totally enamoured with the bike all over again ! The open Zard system and BMC foam filter sounded amazing on an open throttle and the power and handling still felt very impressive, especially after a custom remap at BSD late last year smoothed out the delivery but gave a healthy 156bhp at the wheel. You still have to work at riding the 1098 compared to the 675R and 899 I've demo'd but I've always liked a bit of a challenge. Roll on summer eh !
Yes. yesterday reminded me how fucking fast my 1198 is. It also reminded me how much faster it is than I am. Roll on summer indeed!
