Changed the clutch fluid. When i refill the reservoir should the rubber boot thing inside the reservoir be extended or collapsed to a flat disk? What does it actually do?
It is there to sit on the fluid and move with the level change as the lever is operated. This way it minimises the ingress of moisture with the problems associated - such as corrosion. As said above it should be collapsed when the fluid is topped up.
