Hi all, In honour of 470Four who sadly left us last year we are dedicating the bike of the year competitions (and all future BOTY comps) to him, and it will now be known as the '470Four Bike of the Year'. I'm getting a trophy together (in fact this was the idea of several members, you know who you are!!) to put together. Final details will be here soon on the trophy, but the idea is that it will be passed around the UK (or even world) for years to come, engraved with the winners details on each year. There are some finer details to work out but I think its a fantastic tribute to Darren  The first ever 470Four Bike of the Year goes to.... desmohog "Bodywork from Disco Volante, frame (GT860) and engine ('92 900ss) off ebay for a total of 500 quid. Bent front wheel from a Triumph Tiger, that I rebuilt using an old 17" rear rim. Made the entire exhuast system, I modified the frame to suit belt engine, shortened the stock inlet manifolds, made a set of disc carrier to adapt a set of unknown discs to suit front hub, converted a Monster 600 swing arm to twin shock, made foot pegs, headlamp and instrument brackets. Triumph 1050 front forks......and various other bits of junk sourced from ebay. The only work I outsourced was the powder coating on frame and rims" desmohog's ride attracted 59 votes out of 308 votes that were cast, which was just over 19% of the total votes. Well done sir! It looks like a lot of blood sweat and tears went into making in and it'd be great to get some more detail on this unique bike. So we have some great awards to give, from the site traders that advertise on here. desmohog I'll be in touch soon! A track Day of your choice from Italian bike track days - Introduction. (Or £100 to charity of your choice if you are outside of the UK) £100 voucher for a booking with MADASL Racing in parallel with the above prize. A very worthy winner, I'm sure Darren would've approved with a home brew special taking 'His' trophy. Well done Rob
Well done desmohog a worthy winner and thanks to all the other entrants for making it a true competition. Role on next year and 470four you will never be out of our thoughts. Steve
Well done desmohog, great bike. Well done to those superb machines that were entered (shamed me into a strip down, clean up and general tidy/fettle, etc). Great gesture Rob & those who put forward remembering 470/Darren in this way.
Bloody hell just dawned on me lve not made the trophy yet DONT PANIC DONT PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Steve B
Great idea and a good choice for the winning bike. Who won the "Best standard 848 Evo Corse with a carbon fibre hugger" category?
Rob couldn't work out who's it was as they were all the same.......or he fell asleep while judging them.
