The Akro stuff is beautiful with out doubt and well designed. The Termi stuff is getting much better though. The thing with the DP stuff is that its a package. Air filter and more importantly the UPMAP key. Out of the box, the Termi will have the edge IMO. The Akro will match or make more but you need to add in time to map it properly. Its a balance of VFM, hassle free install and warranty issues vs. ultimate performance and of course the quality of the Akro.
the dyno i put up a while ago was, i think, of a Akra against a dead stock termi. mostly adressing the 4-7K dip much has happened in the mean time... especially the new mapping prob have swept that akra advantage to the minimum. from what i hear, it's only 1 kg lighter than the Termi systemkit. having this Termi system kit on the R as part of the package makes it one very expensive 2 pounds.. whereas we have no idea what it does to the R performance. If it does something good at all. in the mean time, this termi set is now the EVO with the Pro looking extremely promissing when it womes to gaining punch.. just got a price tag in of 2K € for this PRO manifold. the thing everyone looking for max output will eventually do is: system kit (termi? akra?) race airfilter Rapidbike Race module SS timing of cams 10-15 hours of mapping both cylinders run the bike hard for 2K miles this will get a base close to 200 rwhp and 120/130 torque the pic shows the impact of the SS timing on output before and aft on the same day. quit a jump, no? View attachment 12919 This is an almost sure route So doing all this work on a AKRA that has not been tested in these conditions looks pritty risky to me. if they want to impress, Akra, as anyone else, will have to go back to the drawing board. Personally, i see no reason whatsoever to go Akra - apart from its make quality... which sure is seeeeexy !
Toro, i won't, the owner will.. just getting it is half the fun! Now, we're not going to get sensible now, do we?
